Getting to Port Isaac
Harbour Village Access & Vehicle Guide
Port Isaac is beautiful, historic, crowded in summer — and one of the most awkward coastal villages in Cornwall for larger vehicles.
The roads were built long before modern traffic and become extremely tight near the harbour.
If you arrive prepared, it's manageable. If you blindly follow sat nav into the lower village, it can become stressful very quickly.

Approach via the B3267 from the Atlantic Highway (A39).
Avoid tiny coastal shortcuts suggested by sat nav.
Most Important Advice
Do NOT Attempt Harbour Access
Do NOT attempt to drive into the harbour area in:
- Large campervans
- Caravans
- Motorhomes
- Oversized SUVs
- Unfamiliar wide vehicles
The lower village becomes extremely constrained.

Port Isaac is physically demanding for cyclists.
