About this walk
This is a satisfying headland walk with strong sea views for almost the whole outing. The military history adds depth, but the main pleasure is being out on the exposed point above the water. Pendennis is another Tudor fortress later expanded for later conflicts, and the headland setting makes its defensive purpose instantly obvious.
The Experience
• Effort: Easy • Highlight: headland views, fortifications and open sea on three sides • Best bit: the sense of place around Pendennis Point car park • Watch for: cliff edges

Safety & Conditions
Weather
Strong wind and heavy rain are the main concerns, especially on exposed coast, higher ground and slippery steps or descents.
Navigation
Main paths are usually clear, but steep junctions and side paths can tempt you off line, so keep checking location as you go.
Livestock & Wildlife
Livestock are not usually a major issue on the main line, but keep dogs under control if grazing animals are present in adjoining fields.
Footwear
Wear proper walking shoes or boots with grip. Trainers are only comfortable here in the driest and easiest conditions.
Variations
Can usually be shortened by turning back earlier on the coast path, though the full outing gives the strongest sense of the place.
Access & Parking
Some uneven ground and gradients should be expected, especially after rain, but there are no technical sections in normal conditions.
